Laser Printer

Laser printers are a type of printer that uses lasers to produce text and images. They work by shining an intense beam of light onto a photoconductor drum, which then creates an electrostatic charge on the surface as it rotates. This causes the toner (a fine powdery substance) to adhere to the areas with high charge – leaving behind black marks where there is no toner. The laser will scan back and forth across the page, and each time it passes over a spot, another layer of toner is added until all parts have been printed.

Laser printing is a form of inkjet printing that uses laser light to print an image onto paper instead of regular printer ink cartridges . The technology has come a long way since its inception in the 70s and continues to evolve with each passing year. Laser printers use a laser beam for printing and are able to print at much higher speeds than other types of inkjet printers .

In the beginning, there were line drawings created by drawing an image on a rotating drum that was coated with selenium, which is then used as a resist to expose photoresist material or film onto semiconductor wafers. The drum would then be exposed to a pattern of Laser light, which is reflected onto the photoresist . With each exposure to Laser light, more and more of the resist material was removed until it had completely disappeared from areas that were not covered by the Laser image, leaving behind an electrostatic latent image on the substrate.

Photo-sensitive semiconductor Laser Printer Technology (SLPT) is used to create Laser printed circuit boards (PCBs). This Laser printing technology uses an organic photoresist that consists of natural or synthetic resins. These resins are photosensitive and form a crosslinked network when exposed to Laser light .
